Arts of the Pamlico is the area arts council covering Beaufort and Washington Counties. Based in the Historic Turnage Theatre, AOP offers three art galleries featuring local and regional works from artists displaying and selling a variety of art mediums.

Art is always pleased to sell a painting or meet someone who is interested in his work but without either, he would still paint. Art creates painting that are original and makes no copies or prints. He believes that when you purchase a painting it is a personal thing and there should be no copies, only yours. Art has a studio on water street in Washington N.C. Artist Kay Godfrey Woolard is from Washington, North Carolina, a small, inland coastal town on the Pamlico River in eastern North Carolina. Growing up boating and playing on the river and nearby coast, she developed a deep appreciation for nature and water at an early age. After obtaining her master’s degree in business education, she spent most of her professional life teaching in the North Carolina Community College system. Kay now takes much pleasure in rediscovering her passion for art and expressing that love on canvas. Read more about the artist
