The halls of the Historic Turnage Theatre are currently quiet, a rarity to observe these days. But the wheels are flying on the creation of virtual and art under the open sky continues by AOP and artists across our community and country as we plan to reopen when the all-clear flag is raised. This week, AOP launched its Open Sky Arts to encourage and share virtual art options available remotely with our community. Check out these resources and send us your art and ideas to share!
Open Sky Arts Resources
Listen to live music concerts from your home through a variety of online platforms – Facebook, Instagram, Google Hangouts, YouTube and more. Three free concerts are featured in the Open Sky Arts Initiative this week which can be accessed through our online newsletter, posted on our website homepage at www.artsofthepamlico.org. If you can, tip the musicians in their online tip jars.

And for our youth, online playwriting for kids begins March 30. This is a fun, engaging way to support youth learning and creating. BRAVO! Online Playwriting for Kids will be offered in groups of five by age. Youth will join Erin Staebell for an hour each day from March 30 – April 30 to create plays adapted from folktales. Next week the theme is nature and animals. This 5-day workshop series is offered at $15/child for those with a Family Membership and $20/child for Non Family Membership.
