The Arts of the Pamlico (AOP) is pleased to present Scott Campbell as he performs a reading of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.

Did you know that the poem we all know and love is actually called “A Visit from St. Nicholas”?

First published in 1823 in the Troy, New York Sentinel on December 23, it was Clement Clarke Moore’s interpretation of St Nicholas after he himself had been shopping by sleigh.

The popularity of his piece, reprinted many times over the years, is credited for having established our concept of Santa Claus and his role in the Christmas holidays!
