Friday Meeting Cancelled – Broadway Kids (Frozen Jr.)

Dear Families – Due to a positive COVID test of a Broadway Kid camper reported to us on Thursday evening, August 12, the scheduled gathering of campers on Friday, August 13, 2021 will not be able to be offered. Both performances scheduled for August 14 are being postponed. As campers participated in multiple camps this week and camp Instructors were staffing camps with youth from the Broadway Kids Camp and other camps held this week, we are immediately taking steps to limit the potential for spread immediately.  Please contact Ethan Wolf with questions about the camp at e.wolfaop@gmail.com. Broadway Kids Camp brings young people on the magical journey of producing a full-length musical in just three short weeks! Campers will be walked through the professional processes of auditions, rehearsals, and of course performance! Campers will have a great time singing, dancing, and acting while producing a professional performance.

Instructor: Rachel Isaac is the Theatre Arts Teacher at D.H. Conley High School. In the past, she worked as the Youth Programming Coordinator at the Arts of the Pamlico. She graduated from East Carolina University in 2017 with her Bachelors of the Fine Arts degree in Theatre for Youth and has returned to ECU to obtain her K-12 Theatre Education Licensure. Rachel was the director of Bubblegum Theatre Productions at AOP and has performed in many community theatre and college productions. She takes private lessons with Tony Award Winner, Eugene Brancoveanu and also participates in Masterclasses and Workshops with the Broadway Theatre Alliance in NYC.

Fees

  • $85 Family Members per child, per 1-week camp
  • $95 Non-Family Members per child, per 1-week camp
  • $250 Family Members per child, per 3-week camp
  • $350 Non-Family Members per child, per 3-week camp
  • $10 per child, per day gap time to stay for the day and attend two camps in the same week, arrive early/stay later.
  • Multi-child discounts are not available in 2021.

Details

All camps take part at the Arts of the Pamlico’s Historic Turnage Theatre in downtown Washington. Camps are designed for youth ages 6 into the early teens. Broadway Teens Camp ages are 13-18.

Teens are also welcome to contact us about volunteering as well to build their experience through supervised, unpaid internships.

Youth campers may participate in week-long camps in the morning or afternoon or both.

If campers want/need a full day, they may participate in the morning and afternoon camps and stay thru the gap time (12:30 – 1:30 PM) bringing their own lunch.

Camps will serve 10 youth unless they are theatre camps which will serve up to 15 youth each. Broadway Camps serve up to 25.

Art and youth instructors staff the camps. Instructors are college graduates in theatre and art graduates and/or are local art teachers.

Family memberships provide benefits to families. This level of membership reduces camp fees. To join as a Family member, visit artsofthepamlico.org/membership.

Stop by the Historic Turnage Theatre and register, pay and pick up camp forms on Saturdays between 10 AM – 2 PM.
