Learning Collective: Spreading Joy, play and discussion with Aida Porras and Cricket Daniels.

  • Historic Turnage Theatre 150 West Main Street Washington, NC, 27889 United States (map)

Meet the playwright, hear the play performed by live actors, and join an engaging conversation about the creative process, love, friendship, and hope. In Spreading Joy, a group of longtime friends gathers at a beach house on the North Carolina coast following the death of a mutual friend. What unfolds is surprising, hilarious, and deeply moving.

This two-part Sunday series includes a dramatic reading presented in two parts, opportunities to speak with playwright Cricket Daniels, and discussion led by Aida Porras, AOP Theater Lead. Sessions take place on January 10 and 17 at 3:00 pm in the Turnage Theater Gallery. Concessions will be available. Admission is $10 for AOP members and $15 for non-members. One ticket includes both sessions.

Cricket Daniels lives in Bend, Oregon, and is a native Californian with family connections in North Carolina. She holds a theater degree from UC Santa Barbara and studied Shakespeare in Cambridge, England. With an extensive background in improv, stand-up, and theater, she has had her plays produced across the country. Ms. Daniels is a member of The Dramatists Guild of America and will attend both sessions.

Aida Porras is the new Theater Lead at AOP. With experience in acting and singing, along with an MBA, Ms. Porras brings together creative theater expertise and a practical business perspective on theater production.

To receive member pricing, you must have an active AOP membership through SimpleTix and be logged in when purchasing tickets. Not a member? Purchase your membership here. Unsure of your membership status or need assistance? Contact Brittany Lane at outreach@artsofthepamlico.org.
