The Beaufort County Traditional Music Association is pleased to present the showcase featuring members of the P.S. Jones Middle School Chorus under the direction of their teacher, Rachel Oliver.

The BCTMA has sponsored youth showcases and summer music camps for several years. They are pleased to see traditional music and instruments being taught at P.S. Jones Middle School by chorus teacher Rachel Oliver.  She teaches traditional songs using instruments such as the ukulele and guitars. Students will be singing and playing familiar traditional tunes for the performance.  Miss Oliver was P.S. Jones’s Teacher of the Year for the school year 2024-2025. She has been awarded a Grassroots Grant funded by Arts of the Pamlico to bring this exciting group of young musicians to the Turnage Palace Theatre.

Admission is free, and donations are appreciated. This family-friendly concert is sponsored by the Beaufort County Traditional Music Association, founded in 2008 to promote traditional music in Eastern North Carolina. This raucous story of two roommates trying to cheat the IRS stars, in order of appearance, Savannah Wolf, Ethan Wolf, Tony Apple, Brandon Stephens, Russ Woolard, Paula Stephenson, Kelly Shanafelt, and Richard Young.

Tickets will be available through Arts of the Pamlico. Tickets cost $12 each for general admission or $10 each for seniors, students, and veterans.

Participants will learn innovative and creative strategies for how—and where—to find funding to support their organization’s mission and goals. The workshop will cover practical tactics, tips, and tools to help nonprofits build sustainable funding streams and approach fundraising with confidence.

Each and every time The Next Generation Leahy takes the stage, their singular goal is for audiences to walk away from the performance having been inspired by the players, energized by the music, and excited for their return. It is an ingrained, almost genetic drive to create music that has led the Leahy children to achieve so much.  Even at their young ages, they are accomplished multi-instrumentalists, whose live performances are filled with the high-energy, infectious Celtic-based music people associate with the Leahy heritage. Fiddle, cello, French accordion, singing, piano, and French-Canadian step-dancing all find a voice on stage.  “This family brings pure joy! The Brothers Doobie are an exceptional musical tribute band dedicated to honoring the iconic sound of The Doobie Brothers and Michael McDonald. Comprised of six incredibly talented musicians, the Brothers Doobie captivate audiences with their uncanny ability to recreate the soulful sounds and energetic performances of the original band.

Featuring iconic songs like “What a Fool Believes,” “Takin’ It to the Streets,” “Black Water” and more, this group will take you on an unforgettable musical journey back to the ‘70s and ‘80s.

Saddle up for Arts of the Pamlico’s 1st Annual Cowboy 5K Ramble Run & Rhythm, a western-themed fun run and full day of music, movies, and cowboy flair all benefiting the preservation of the Historic Turnage Theatre.

Whether you’re a seasoned runner, a casual walker, or just here for the atmosphere, this event blends fitness, community, and country charm. The day also tips its hat to the legendary American singing cowboy Roy Rogers, who once visited the Turnage with his horse, Trigger.

What does every nonprofit need? Money. Join us for Basic Fundraising for Non-Profits, a free workshop at the Turnage Theatre designed to help nonprofit leaders, staff, board members, and volunteers strengthen their fundraising efforts.

Participants will learn innovative and creative strategies for how—and where—to find funding to support their organization’s mission and goals. The workshop will cover practical tactics, tips, and tools to help nonprofits build sustainable funding streams and approach fundraising with confidence.

This session is led by Debra Torrence, a seasoned and successful fundraiser, and is presented in partnership with the Small Business Center Network. It is also sponsored by Wells Fargo Bank and TriCounty Foundation.

Spend the day painting outdoors at beautiful Pamlico Plantation during this En Plein Air painting workshop with Lynn Mehta. Artists will have the opportunity to work directly from the landscape, capturing light, color, and atmosphere while receiving guidance and encouragement from Lynn throughout the day.

• Participants should bring their own canvas and painting supplies and are encouraged to explore the grounds at their own pace.

• Artists will also want to bring a packed lunch, as the workshop runs from morning through mid-afternoon.

• At the conclusion of the day, participants will take part in a friendly group voting experience to celebrate the work created.

The group will meet at the clubhouse at Pamlico Plantation. The gate code will be provided to registered participants prior to the event.
