Youth Performing Arts @ the Turnage
AOP’s Youth Performing Arts performances, workshops and camps are offered year round at the Turnage bring the magic of the stage to life for young performers of all experience levels.
Workshops are offered throughout the year to build confidence, knowledge and skills of Beaufort County youth.
Camps are offered throughout the year. Campers dive into acting, stage movement, vocal work, and behind-the-scenes elements like set design and costumes—all while building confidence, teamwork, and creativity. Each camp ends with a live performance, giving students a chance to shine on the historic Turnage stage!
Performances are done on stage in our Historic Turnage Theatre which seats 400 guests providing youth with an amazing experience in being part of the show.
Art Leaders - AOP supports the development of leadership in the arts with opportunities for youth to direct elements of the shows.

Alternative Stage
Alternative Stage sparks bold, meaningful connections between artists and audiences. From locally written plays to experimental performance art, they present work that challenges norms and invites conversation—free from traditional boundaries or gatekeepers.

Not Quite Shakespeare Productions is dedicated to empowering young performers through theatre that instructs, inspires, and encourages. Focused on creating meaningful experiences for youth, this group blends education with creativity, helping children build confidence, collaboration skills, and a lifelong love for the performing arts.

The Beaufort Performing Arts Collective brings together a vibrant community of local artists across all disciplines—from music and dance to visual arts and theatre. Representing the full spectrum of Beaufort County’s creative talent, the Collective fosters collaboration, celebrates local artistry, and strengthens the cultural heartbeat of our region.

The Way Off Broadway Playhouse produces local, live, theatrical productions in Belhaven, NC.
Washington High School
Led by Theatre Teacher, Mackenzie Bunch, Washington High School youth learn The Washington High School Performing Arts program in Beaufort County, North Carolina, WHS stages its major theatrical productions at its Performing Arts Center located at 400 Slatestone Road, Washington, NC.
