Art & Wellness Garden: A Community Partnership

The Vision

Arts of the Pamlico is proud to partner with the Pamlico Rose Institute (PRI) and the PRI Wellness Corps to transform the Turnage Theatre’s backside into a vibrant sanctuary for healing and creativity. This project isn't just a garden, it’s an outdoor classroom, a gallery for local art exhibits, and a future home for our emerging outdoor bistro.

Advancing Well-Being Through the Arts

The PRI Wellness Corps, a partnership between AmeriCorps and PRI, is dedicated to fostering connection and growth through inclusive community gardens across North Carolina. By meeting people where they are, we provide a safe, welcoming space that promotes healthy living and communal healing.

Led by Passion

Our initiative is spearheaded by AmeriCorps staff member Lisa Hodges, who brings her expertise to the Turnage. Under her leadership, we are connecting the community to the soil and the soul of Washington, NC.
