Weeks of Feb. 1 & 8, 2026
Celebrate your love of the arts in February with a host of activities. Three art exhibits open in February with an opening reception on the 6th at 5:30 PM. Exhibitions include Let There Be Light by Michael Bennett -- stunning paintings and drawings, AOP’s annual juried Photography Show --images that will take your breath away and gorgeous pottery by AOP Affiliate Pamlico River Pottery Guild. The Guild will also offer their annual Pottery Fest on the 21st with hands-on activities and demos and AOP’s free Claymation movie. Concessions will be sold.
On the 13th pop in at Pitt St. Brewing on Stewart Parkway for a Pitt Partner Donation Night, 5 – 8 PM. Your purchases then will support 15% of sales being donated to the theatre. Then at 7:30 PM join Second Verse’s readings - Heritage, Love, Hate in the Turnage Gallery.
Free matinee movies on a couple Thursdays each month. Hot popcorn and coffee, plenty of chocolate treats and cold beverages and wine & beer alcoholic (served only for adult movies) will be for sale with a suggested donation of $5. Check out the website for a listing of movies coming up. Matinee movies include the 1957 edition of A Star is Born.
A Time for Science brings their mobile planetarium to the stage on the 17th at 12:30 PM for a free family program (rescheduled from January 27 due to internet outage) with support from Anonymous Trust. A variety of show times will occur through November 2026 thanks to private donations.
Tuesday Painters gather at 9:30 AM weekly, Pamlico Writers Group on Tuesday evenings at 7 PM, and BCTMA jams in the Gallery on Thursdays Saturdays monthly. On the 19th BCTMA’s monthly Variety Show will be in the Palace Theatre at 6 PM. Rachel Oliver will lead PS Jones Middle School String Band’s the free concert supported by an AOP NC Arts Council Grassroots Grant and Anonymous Trust. Family friendly concessions.
On the 20th live music takes the stage with Morgan Hudson & Co. at 7 PM. PBS NC will be filming a NC Weekend segment about your arts council and Theatre then too. Get your tickets and be part of the show and television shoot! On the 21st, USA Dance kicks up their heels in the Gallery beginning at 7 PM. And Boy Band Karaoke will be cranking it up in the Gallery on the 26th. Grab some snacks and bring it, swing it and sing it!
Rental partner events include Solina Dance Disco Wonderland on the 7th, Longleaf Variety Show on the 8th, a celebration of Black History Month with a free inspiring true story of Black female mathematicians at NASA – Hidden Figures on the 26th, and the British Invaders on the 28th.
In March, AOP’s Annual Gala – 100 Years & More! will fill the theatre. The event was postponed due to weather and will be held on March 20. Tickets are almost gone – get yours today at artsofthepamlico.org.
