Weeks of Feb. 15 & 22, 2026
February has been full of amazing art that continues until we reach March. Three art shows are available to view and shop through the end of the month – pottery, photography and Michael Bennett’s Let There Be Light. Boy Band Karaoke in the Turnage Gallery is coming up on Wednesday evening, February 25. This is a monthly free event with concessions for sale. Le Moulin Rouge de Danse hosts their showcase on stage on Friday, February 27 and the British Invaders take the stage on Saturday eve, February 28.
We are hoping March does not come in like a lion as there is so much planned at AOP that you’ll not want to miss. The month kicks off with Love, Sex and the IRS – the title is an attention getter - on stage for a weekend of shows beginning Thursday evening, March 5, by Alternative Stage. Then Longleaf Variety Show sponsored by Laura Scoble takes the stage on Sunday afternoon, March 6.
On March 12, rental partner Beaufort County Concert Association brings Next Generation to the stage. And, on Monday, March 16, AOP kicks off a new Monday music series with keyboardist Quincy Jones and Friends in the Gallery.
Youth events coming up include Beyond the Blue planetarium on stage at 4 PM on Friday, March 13, followed by the opening reception of a month-long annual exhibit of Beaufort County Schools youth art. On the front window, look for a display by the Beaufort County Smart Start Partnership as it kicks off its awareness campaign , Paint the Town Blue, with artwork by pre-K to raise awareness about the prevention of child abuse.
On Friday, March 27, at 1 and 6 PM, Pepito and the Trash Cans will be on stage thanks to a Grassroots Grant from the NC Arts Council. The show is a bilingual, musical storytelling experience that promotes socio-emotional learning, while teaching Spanish vocabulary through the context of the story. The audience will experience a heartwarming story about a little boy in Bolivia who longs to play music, but scarcity and misfortune stand in the way of his dreams. Finally, he overcomes by making his own instruments out of bottles, cans, and other repurposed materials. Music is played throughout the story and ends with an epic song demonstrating how Pepito and his siblings make music with bottles, cans, and other repurposed materials.
On the eve of Saturday, March 14, an improv comedian troupe out of New Bern – A Walk in the Bathtub - will fill the Gallery with laughter. Get your tickets at artsofthepamlico.org. On March 20, AOP’s Annual Gala – 100 Years & More! will fill the theatre. The event was postponed due to the weather. Don’t miss this amazing time to support the arts. Tickets are almost gone – get yours today at artsofthepamlico.org.
Check AOP’s online calendar or grab one at the theatre for dates for free art and networking events including Tuesday Painter gatherings, all levels welcomed, free movie matinees on Thursdays, traditional music jams in the gallery on Thursday eves and Saturday mornings.
