January Program – Trekking Through Space and Time
Join us for an exciting, hands-on astronomy experience as part of the Turnage Family Series!
On Tuesday, January 27, from 1:30–3:30 PM, families are invited to explore the wonders of space with Beyond the Blue: Adventures in Astronomy, presented by A Time for Science in partnership with the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences.
This month’s program, “Trekking Through Space and Time,” invites young explorers to delve into the history and invention of telescopes and discover how they help us understand the universe. After the immersive planetarium experience, participants will take part in a hands-on science activity, engineering their very own telescope to take home.
The mobile planetarium offers an awe-inspiring, interactive experience that sparks curiosity and imagination, perfect for kids and families, but engaging for all ages.
Beyond the Blue is a year-long planetarium series at the Turnage Theatre. Additional free programs will take place on March 13, April 14, June 19, September 8, and November 14, each featuring a different space-themed topic. Individual program details will be shared closer to each date.
