June Program – Physics of the Solar System
Marvel at the motion of the Earth, Moon, and Sun during June’s Beyond the Blue: Adventures in Astronomy, part of the Turnage Family Series!
On Friday, June 19, from 5:00–7:00 PM, kids and families are invited to explore the science behind how celestial bodies move through space during an immersive mobile planetarium experience, followed by a hands-on exploration activity.
This month’s theme, “Physics of the Solar System,” introduces participants to concepts such as gravity, rotation, revolution, and orbits, helping young explorers understand how the Earth, Moon, and Sun interact to create day and night, seasons, and eclipses. After the planetarium show, participants will engage in an interactive science activity designed to reinforce these ideas through observation and creative exploration.
Engaging, educational, and fun for all ages, this program encourages curiosity while making big science ideas accessible for kids.
Beyond the Blue is a year-long planetarium series at the Turnage Theatre, featuring free, family-friendly programs that combine immersive planetarium shows with hands-on science activities.
