Weeks of September 27 & Oct 6, 2025

The Arts of the Pamlico is home to dozens of art and community groups. A new group, The Pamlico River Pottery Guild is now an affiliate of AOP, utilizing space and resources to build artists skills and opportunities to share and sell their art.

The Guild’s annual Pottery show, and sale opens October 3, 2025, in the AOP’s Turnage Gallery and runs through November 7. The show’s opening reception is open to the public and will take place in the Gallery on the evening of October 3, 2025. Beverages and concessions will be available for purchase during the reception.

On October 25, the Guild will host its free 2nd Annual Potteryfest in the Gallery from 10 am to 5 pm. The daylong event was such a blast last year and promises to be just as exciting this year with demonstrations by potters including William Aley, Carrie Cranwell, and Heather Summers, throwing demonstrations on the wheel, hand-building techniques, assorted surface designs, and more! In addition to demonstrations, there will be vendor booths with pottery for sale, hands-on opportunities for you to try out techniques, and an exciting competition called “The Clay Olympics”.

Mark your calendars and plan to stop on by the Turnage, view and shop pottery on exhibit and join in Potteryfest! It’s a floating event, so come and go as you please throughout the day. Visit artsofthepamlico.org for additional details on the event.

To get more information about the Pamlico River Pottery Guild, and/or to become involved in Potteryfest or the Pottery show, or with any other questions, please reach out to Heather Summers at mudinmotion@gmail.com.

AOP is open Wednesday through Friday, 11 AM – 5 PM, Saturday, 11 AM – 3 PM, and for events. Visit artsofthepamlico.org to learn more, become a member, donate, sign up to volunteer, purchase tickets, and more!
