The arts are thriving at Arts of the Pamlico – stretch your dollars with free fun at your community arts plex -- the Historic Turnage Theatre!

Dance! On Saturday, May 9, AOP patrons gathered at Lake Jehu off Whootentown Road in Washington for dancing under the stars at the 2nd Annual Champagne & Starlight fundraiser for the vaudeville playhouse. Le Moulin Rouge de Danse is on stage the weekend of May 16, presenting Dreamscapes at your community Historic Turnage Theatre. Don’t miss this community dance; tickets are $5. On Saturday, May 16, the USA Dance Chapter meets in the Gallery to ballroom dance the night away. Open to all levels. Learn! Are you looking for a new way to learn about subjects you may not have delved into before? Join AOP’s Learning Collective for a fabulous array of discussions and more! Look! Free matinee movies on the big screen continue on Thursday, May 20 & June 4 at 3 PM, with The Road to Bali. Grab some warm popcorn and enjoy the film! Alternative Stage will present the premiere of A Restful Peace on stage on Friday, June 5, at 7 PM. Tickets on sale now.

Create! On June 12, during the next Art Walk in downtown Washington, AOP’s open-air art garden will open thanks to the hard work of Lisa Hodges, Master Gardener & Pamlico Rose Institute Wellness & Americorps Lead. Free finger painting for adults and kids, music, and more!

There’s more! Thanks to ongoing donations for youth programs – send your donation please – we are keeping arts accessible for all with free art camps for Beaufort County youth residents in grades 3 and up beginning mid-June through early August. Sponsor or sign up your Beaufort County child for an AOP Youth Art Camp. Register today through BCCC Continuing Education.
