Join us at the Historic Turnage Theatre, home to Arts of the Pamlico and a host of arts organizations, as we wrap up with a series of big events, big bands, and big bubbles together!
This weekend, the Arts of the Pamlico’s annual Holiday Homecoming Tour & Luncheon will take place on Saturday, December 6, featuring a lineup of homes in Washington and Chocowinity, and new additions of community spaces to visit on the tour. Tickets for the luncheon are closed.
A big youth event is happening this weekend too - with the Newsies Jr. cast walking in the Washington Christmas parade! Find them singing this weekend with AOP’s Youth Theatre Director, Savannah Wolf.
Big movies on the big screen await you this month too -- The Muppets Christmas on December 6 at 2 pm, followed by It’s a Wonderful Life on Thursday, December 11 followed by Polar Express on December 13 with a kid’s craft by Unnatural Resources Institute and big snow bubbles on Main Street thanks to the Rich Company. Grab your tickets online and your candy cane on the way out.
Big and little art is on exhibit and for sale at the Turnage. AOP’s biggest art show of the year , the 61st Alice Hubbard Stallings Fine Arts Show, continues through plan to view, shop and drop your vote in the box for the People’s Choice Award supported by the Stallings Family. Makers Gallery & the Turnage Gallery show will be open through December 21 and reopen on January 7, 2026.
Big sound will fill the theater all month long. The Emerald City Big Band will be on stage December 4 followed by the Kruger Brothers and two accompanying bands on stage on Sunday, December 7. Beaufort County Choral Society hosts its Christmas concert on the afternoon of Sunday, December 14. And The Embers with Craig Woolard returns to close out the month’s activities on December 19. Swing on by and shop and take in the big sounds of BCTMA jamming in the Gallery Thursday eves and Saturday mornings this month, except for December 4.
Big construction projects are underway – with the restoration of the marquee, replacement of the soundboard that just couldn’t go on, microphones, three failing rooftop HVAC units, electrical and plumbing, kitchen upgrades and work to create Vaudeville theatre tours, installation of an art & wellness garden – all underway!
Thanks to all who support the arts council and theatre activities – big and small. Save the date to celebrate and support your arts council and plan to be part of the biggest AOP event in the new year – the annual Gala – 100 Years & More on January 31, 2026, at the Turnage. Tickets on sale December 20.
