Denise Parry Barnett

Originally from England, I spent my early years traveling throughout Europe and was educated in Germany, Cyprus, and Holland before attending Hugh Baird College of Art and Design in Liverpool. After college, I worked in theater as a stage set designer, makeup artist, and prop designer.

Upon moving to the United States, I traveled extensively from Montana to Texas before settling in Eastern North Carolina, where I have lived for the past 25 years. I returned to painting about 10 years ago.

I feel fortunate to have had an interesting life meeting people globally and seeing many beautiful places. I enjoy discovering new ways to translate my passion for art through my personal life experiences, and it is a pleasure to give back through donations whenever possible.

Kelly Maness

I was born and raised in Greenville, North Carolina and spent nearly 20 years working in the veterinary field. I am not a stay at home mom to three very rambunctious kiddos. Painting has always been a meaningful part of my life. What began as a simple hobby gradually grew into something much more. Dr. Julie Garren and her husband, Hunt, graciously gave me the opportunity to display and sell my artwork at their clinic, and I quickly began making sales. That’s when. I started to think, maybe I really have something here.

Over time, I learned so much about oil painting and continue to grow and evolve as an artist. Growing up my mother created beautiful paintings, and my brother Danie was always experimenting with new techniques and mediums. I attribubte much of what I’ve learned to both of them, and they remain my biggest chherleaders today.

That artistic passion has carried on to the next generation, especially in my daughter Jett and my nephews, Ian and Trent.
