November Program – Uncovering Invisible Wonders: The Northern Lights
Discover the hidden light of the universe during November’s Beyond the Blue: Adventures in Astronomy, part of the Turnage Family Series!
On Saturday, November 14, from 12:30–2:30 PM, kids and families are invited to explore the invisible forces of space through an immersive mobile planetarium experience, followed by a hands-on exploration activity.
This month’s theme, “Uncovering Invisible Wonders,” introduces participants to the electromagnetic spectrum and how scientists use different types of light—beyond what our eyes can see—to study the universe. Through stunning visuals, young explorers will learn how these invisible waves help us understand natural phenomena like the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis). After the planetarium show, participants will take part in an interactive science activity designed to make these unseen forces visible and understandable in a kid-friendly way.
Engaging, educational, and full of awe, this program encourages curiosity and creativity while making complex science concepts accessible for children.
Beyond the Blue is a year-long planetarium series at the Turnage Theatre, featuring free, family-friendly programs that combine immersive planetarium shows with hands-on science activities.
